Cats from the Machine - The Tudor Court IV Magnet
A playful feline side-archive from the early AI image-making era.
Inspired by years of photographing the various corner-store cats of San Francisco, this piece preserves the strange, bright, stately, and unpredictable feline energy that emerged when real-world observation met the machine’s dreaming logic.
These Cats from the Machine collections were born during one insomniac episode — a single sleepless run where, for whatever reason, my restless mind fixed on cats and refused to let go. I kept changing prompts, adjusting language, and following the machine as it returned cats in different forms: first cats in knit hats, then the Tudor Court cats, then the stranger abstract feline parades, with many more feline fragments waiting in the archive for future collections.
Somehow, the Tudor cats also found their own strange place in the Labyrinth — as if a small royal court had wandered in through a side door and decided to stay.
Each shift in the prompt opened another door, and the machine kept answering in cats.
A real photographic habit went in. An insomniac mind followed the thread. A changing prompt carried it forward. Something odd, bright, and unmistakably feline came back.
