A playful feline side-archive from the early AI image-making era.
Inspired by years of photographing San Francisco corner-store cats, this collection preserves the strange, bright, and unpredictable feline characters that appeared when real-world observation met the machine’s dreaming logic.
It began simply enough: noticing shop cats, photographing them, and following the small feline presences tucked into the corners of the city. Years later, those memories found their way into my earliest experiments with artificial intelligence.
A real photographic habit went in. Something odd, vivid, and unmistakably feline came back.
Created during the early AI image-making era, when artists were still learning the machine’s language—and teaching the machine some of their own.
Porthos approves of this collection—mainly because he is not required to wear a hat.
